Southern Glazer’s offers a competitive compensation package with a starting pay range from $30.00 / hour - $34.00 / hour, depending upon experience. In determining a final offer, the company will evaluate a specific candidate's education, skills, and experience, and make an offer appropriately. This position is available for immediate placement. This is a production environment and the hours are Mon – Thurs, 4 ten-hour shifts from 6:00 PM – 4:30 AM, plus overtime. Overview:
The Yard Hostler Nights is responsible for yard tractors, tractors, and straight trucks to position equipment to and from the yard and warehouse. Additional duties include operating warehouse power equipment and other assigned tasks when needed.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform pre-trip inspection and inspect trucks thoroughly.
- Move all trucks in and around the premises.
- Assist in picking products for production from various warehouse locations.
- Operate all warehouse equipment.
- Assist in picking products for production from various warehouse locations.
- Track all containers coming onto and leaving the premises.
- Perform acceptance of inbound loads (per company standards).
- Close and secure the seal of the truck after loading is completed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Additional Primary Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalency plus 1 year of experience.
- Must have a current Class A Commercial Driver's license.
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move more than 60 pounds (lbs.) repetitively.
Physical Demands:
- Physical demands include a considerable amount of time walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to fumes.
- Must be able to regularly sit and operate machinery such as a forklift.
- Additional hours may be required during October, November, and December, and other peak periods.
- Must be able to frequently lift/lower, push, carry, or pull 60 pounds (lbs.) repetitively.
